About this deal

The Heldrake can also be armed with a Baleflamer in place of its Hades Autocannon. The Baleflamer is a daemonic Flamer weapon that allows the Heldrake to heave out the great gouts of daemonic Warpfire roiling within their chests. The burning ichor that rains down upon their prey ignites flesh and soul alike. Used in both aerial and space battles, the Hell Talon has a sleek form resembling an elongated double-axe head. Vectored engines allow for superior manoeuvrability. Superior in combat to almost any Imperial airship of any class. Its armament consists of twin-linked lascannons, either an autocannon or Havoc Launchers, and incendiary bombs. [Needs Citation] Daemon Princes have a single listing now (still 150 points), and wings are a +35 point upgrade. So no major changes – the unit is still overcosted.Warpsmiths are now 65 points base, but that includes their Meltagun and Flamer. They still have to pay 5 points for the power axe they come with, however. Exalted Sorcerer • Sorcerer • Warpsmith • Dark Apostle • Master of Possession • Master of Executions • Lord Discordant • Warsmith • Death Guard Sorcerer • Lord of Contagion • Malignant Plaguecaster • Plague Surgeon • Tallyman • Scarab Occult Sorcerer • Scarab Occult Terminators The Khorne Lord of Skulls now has a base cost of 435 points, but this includes the Skullhurler and Ichor cannon in the base cost. Upgrades are comparable.

Sorcerers and Chaos Lords get the DEATH GUARD title added to their names, so they’re now distinct units, hopefully with T5. Death Guard Cultists are 5 points per model. Cheaper than CSM cultists. Cool. So cool, you guys. **Scott’s note: notably, cheaper than Guardsmen now. You can stop crying finally.Perhaps the most surprising part of the January FAQ update was the fact that it included points adjustments for a number of units. A welcome change, sure, but entirely unexpected! The document itself is essentially an entirely new Munitorum Field Manual, covering points for every unit in the game, laid out in the new Codex format (as opposed to listing wargear options separately). The miasma of wrongness that surrounds these fell creatures is due not only to their hideous hybridisation, but also to the keening anguish of what remains of the individuals who used to be their pilots. The steersmen inside the Heldrakes, having become consumed by the power and independence granted to them by their fighter craft, have literally become one with their vehicles due to the power of the Warp.

This means that on the whole they dropped 3ppm while gaining a wound (well, soon anyways). That’s a welcome change! The Heldrake is a winged Daemon Engine of Chaos that plummets out of the skies like a living comet, hurtling towards enemy aircraft and crashing claws-first into them from above. Each Heldrake is a vicious predator, hell-forged deep within the Warp. Heldrake • Stormbird • Thunderhawk • Storm Eagle • Fire Raptor • Hell Blade • Hell Talon • Harbinger • Dreadclaw • Kharybdis On a wargear note, Thunder Hammers went from 40 points on a character to 20. You still won’t use them since they mess with Death to the False Emperor and other abilities that proc off modified hit rolls, though. Dark umbilical cables, sheathed in organic webbing, probe outwards from each Heldrake's body to burrow into the host voidship's outer surface, drawing away raw energy as a leech draws blood from its victim. When the Chaos warships arrive in low orbit, the Heldrakes detach themselves, unfurling their great wings as they plummet towards the atmosphere of the victim planet below.
